There is no better way to start your morning than by tasting a hot cup of coffee. However, the freshly made mug may not remain untouched for too long as you probably know, and since you can’t prepare a fresh pot of coffee every time you want to take a swig, there is a convenient alternative to keep your caffeine intake up – try out a Viagra tablet! The popular drug has been used for more than half a century now, and although it has been replaced with newer medications, Sildenafil and Tadalafil, the blue pill still reigns supreme as the most popular therapy for erectile dysfunction (ED) and raised blood pressure.

Sri Lanka is a country located in the Indian Ocean. The lush green landscapes, tropical climate, and picturesque beaches make for some breathtaking sights, perfect for tourists and expats alike. The island nation is well-known for its tea plantations and beautiful tea houses, each with its signature green lawns and brightly painted exteriors. If you happen to be in Sri Lanka, then there is no reason to not indulge in a few luxury purchases as the country is extremely easy to travel around in and you will have access to a globalized luxury market close to home.

But what is the cost of this accessibility? Unfortunately, the country is experiencing an epidemic of obesity. More than a third of its adults are classified as “morbidly obese,” or have a body mass index (BMI) of above 30. This number is much higher than the 20.9% of adults in the UK who are obese. In fact, the country’s Bureau of Statistics reports that 40% of Sri Lankans have serious dietary restrictions due to an increase in chronic diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease. It’s likely that the country’s already high rates of hypertension and stroke, which are already the third and fifth leading cause of death respectively, will continue to rise as the population becomes more sedentary and less active. It is a major public health concern.

Sildenafil (Viagra) Tablets

Sildenafil is a medication produced by a company called Pfizer and originally marketed as Viagra. It was initially approved for use in the treatment of erectile dysfunction back in 1998 and is the active ingredient in Viagra. It works by blocking the action of enzymes known as phosphodiesterases in the corpus cavernosum, which are responsible for breaking down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). As a result, blood flows into the penis and tissues become engorged with blood, which in turn causes the penis to become rigid.

Sildenafil is now widely available, and prices range from £3 to £6 a tablet in the UK. The treatment has been proven to be significantly more effective than older medications such as papaverine hydrochloride and papillotine, which were previously used to treat ED. Nevertheless, while it’s undoubtedly a step forward, ED still remains a major issue for men, and many are unable to find the “right” treatment. According to the UK’s National Health Service, approximately 600,000 men in the country struggle with ED, which is why it is the third most prescribed medication after paracetamol and ibuprofen. In fact, it’s been revealed that only 42% of men aged between 40 and 49 have experienced an erection that was satisfactory enough for vaginal intercourse in the past year. That’s nearly a quarter of the country’s male population. It’s a massive social issue and clearly demonstrates the need for more effective treatments. Sildenafil is not the only treatment available for ED, as there are also external devices such as the penis pump, which help to overcome the problem. However, for those who don’t want to bother investing in equipment, or are simply unable to use it for medical reasons, the drug is still a convenient and effective alternative.

Tadalafil (Cialis) Tablets

Tadalafil, or cialis in the US, is another medication produced by Pfizer that works in a similar manner to sildenafil, although it has a longer half-life. It is often referred to as a “pro-drug” because it needs to be converted into its active form, which is then available for use. This active ingredient is now widely available across the globe, primarily in Europe and North America where it is prescribed at a rate of 16 million tablets per month. It is a common treatment for erectile dysfunction and currently priced at around £4 a tablet in the UK. Similar to Sildenafil, Tadalafil is also significantly more effective and has a longer half-life than many of its predecessors. The treatment has an extremely convenient dosing schedule, with the recommended once-daily dose being taken in the morning with food. It can also be used in combination with other treatments, such as sildenafil and vardenafil (Levitra), for better results. The only downside is that since Tadalafil is active in the body for a considerably longer period of time, you will need to make sure you have someplace to store all of those extra pills! There are also a number of side effects associated with Tadalafil, such as headache, facial flushing, and upset stomach. However, these are generally mild and infrequent. It is also important to note that this is not an herbal medication and as such does not offer any advantages in terms of side effects or safety. Nevertheless, since it is a much more effective treatment for erectile dysfunction than many other medications, it is still extremely popular all around the globe.

What is ED and why is it so common?

Erectile dysfunction can be described as the inability of the penis to attain or maintain an erection that is sufficiently firm to allow for vaginal intercourse. While there are a number of underlying causes that can lead to erectile dysfunction, including medication, neurological, and spinal problems, the most common cause is vascular disease. Vascular disease occurs when there is some blockage or damage to the blood vessels in and around the penis, often as a result of smoking or excessive drinking. The NHS lists cardiovascular diseases as the leading cause of erectile dysfunction in both the UK and the US, and it is a major public health concern in both countries.

The good news is that there are always options. In many cases, simply changing your diet and losing some weight can bring significant relief. However, for those who want to get extra help, then there are various medications that can be used to treat the condition. In recent years, there have also been some remarkable advances in the world of nanotechnology, with medical-grade nanomaterials now being used to treat many chronic diseases, including cancer and ED. The materials are often given via injections into the muscle, and while they are only effective for a short period of time, they can be an effective and convenient alternative for those who want an immediate solution. Injections of these materials are generally painless and have no significant side effects, although as with any medication, care must be taken to ensure that the patient does not develop an allergic reaction.

In cases of persistent ED, then self-injection therapy may be a better option than trying out one of the more traditional methods of treatment. The convenience of being able to administer a therapy that is effective immediately and without any significant side effects makes it an attractive proposition for both patients and doctors. However, in many cases, simply changing your diet and exercising may be all that’s needed to restore your partner’s pleasure.
