For guys suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED), there are now treatments other than Viagra.
The problem is that since Viagra was approved for treating ED in 1998, millions of men have been led to believe that it is the only treatment for their condition. While it’s still the most popular drug for treating ED, its popularity is starting to decline. And for very good reason.
In the last few years, the generic version of Viagra, sildenafil, has become a lot more affordable. While still a highly effective treatment for ED, it’s now becoming clear that there are other remedies that work just as well (or even better) than Viagra.
And since sildenafil is a much more affordable treatment, it’s making it a lot more accessible to men who might not have been able to afford the brand name version before. In fact, several studies have shown that sildenafil is effective in treating a variety of sexual dysfunctions, beyond ED.
So if you’re looking for an alternative treatment to Viagra, check out these seven natural remedies that are just as effective (and sometimes more effective) than the blues icon drug.
Prostate Cancer Treatment
In 2015, nearly 26,000 American men were diagnosed with prostate cancer, and over 11,000 men lost their lives to the disease. When treated with surgery and radiation therapy, prostate cancer survivors can often suffer from side effects that hinder their quality of life. One of the biggest complaints from prostate cancer patients is ED, and since surgery and radiation therapy are known to cause ED, many have turned to medicinal oils (such as sesame oil or coconut oil) to improve their sexual function and enhance their quality of life.
In addition to helping with ED, these oils have several other medicinal properties that make them attractive candidates for alleviating the side effects of prostate cancer treatment. For example, they’re both antifungal and antibacterial, which means that they can help to keep infections at bay. And since many cancer patients are already on immunosuppressants to prevent their bodies from rejecting the cancerous tissue, these oils could potentially be used to mitigate the side effects of such therapy.
Oromaxillol (DIMAXIN)
Unlike most of the treatments discussed so far, this drug isn’t a natural product but is rather a synthetic compound developed to mimic the effects of the sex hormone oxytocin. When administered via injection, oromaxillol (DIMAXIN) has been shown to significantly enhance the sexual performances of infertile men, including improving their erection hardness and duration. In addition, it’s been demonstrated to increase sexual desire and pleasure in sexually active men. While this substance doesn’t directly treat ED, it could potentially be a boon for men with low libido due to other causes, such as pharmaceuticals or medical conditions.
Tadalafil (CASMAN)
Tadalafil (CASMAN) is another drug that’s become relatively popular in recent years, with its effectiveness in treating ED being demonstrated in several studies. Like sildenafil, tadalafil is a PDE-5 inhibitor and therefore works by increasing the blood flow to the penis, resulting in more robust erections. However, tadalafil is a little more potent than sildenafil, and it is more effective in treating higher dosages of ED.
Like many other ED medications, tadalafil is reasonably priced considering its cost-effectiveness and ease of access. For these reasons, it’s become popular among men who are unable to afford the higher priced alternatives. In addition, side effects from tadalafil are generally minimal and include headaches, flushing, and stuffy nose.
Cabergoline (DUREGLIN)
This is yet another drug that’s become relatively popular in the treatment of ED, especially among older men. Like the others mentioned so far, cabergoline (DUREGLIN) is a medication that’s been around for a while but has seen an upswing in use in the past few years. Similar to the other drugs discussed so far, cabergoline is a dopamine agonist and therefore helps to regulate the activities of the nervous system. And like most medications, cabergoline has several side effects, the most prominent of which include nausea, dizziness, and headache. However, for many men, these side effects are either relatively minor or nonexistent.
Like all the other treatments discussed so far, cabergoline is also effective in treating ED. According to several studies, it’s even more effective than the other dopamine agonists, such as Apudilin or Bromezoline (DUREGLIN). In fact, some studies have shown that it can be as effective as Viagra. When taken at the same time as Viagra, it actually works better than the blues icon drug, and it’s been shown to be more effective in treating larger-diameter penises. It’s also becoming a popular choice for men with Peyronie’s disease, who want to avoid surgery.
Methotrexate (RHEINSTAT)
This medication was originally developed to be used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, but it’s also been proven to be helpful in treating male infertility. Similar to the other medications discussed so far, methotrexate (RHEINSTAT) interferes with the replication of the cells that produce DNA, resulting in blocked sperm production. However, while it’s been proven to be effective in treating male infertility, this drug is incredibly toxic and a lot more expensive than the other treatments discussed so far. In addition, it’s important to note that methotrexate can cause birth defects, so it’s only recommended for infertile men who are unable to sire children.
Tramadol (TRENDYL)
Another drug that’s seen a recent increase in popularity among guys suffering from ED is tramadol (TRENDYL). Like the other treatments discussed so far, tramadol is another medication that’s been around for a while but has only recently become popular. It’s been demonstrated to significantly enhance the erectile performances of men who take it, especially those who have been previously treated for ED. Similar to the others discussed so far, the most common side effects from tramadol include headaches, drowsiness, and nausea. However, in some cases, these side effects can be severe and even life-threatening.
While tramadol can’t treat ED directly, it can help to alleviate the pain that many men with ED experience while trying to get an erection. This medication is typically more affordable than the others discussed so far, although like the others, it is not without its side effects. The most important thing for men who are trying to decide whether or not to try tramadol is to remember that it is not a replacement for sex therapy, education, or medication. If you’re not sure whether or not taking tramadol is right for you, be sure to consult with your doctor.
Vardenafil (REMERELIZA)
The only difference between vardenafil (REMERELIZA) and the others discussed so far is that it’s the only treatment that hasn’t been approved by the FDA to officially treat ED. However, since 2006, this medication has been used to treat several sexual dysfunctions, including ED. It’s a PDE-5 inhibitor and therefore helps to increase the blood flow to the penis during arousal, resulting in bigger and longer erections. In fact, several studies have shown that vardenafil can be effective in treating a range of sexual dysfunctions, including Premature Ejaculation (PE), Impotence, and Early MorningEjaculation (Emmet’s Syndrome). In addition to helping with ED, vardenafil can also help to improve the sex lives of men with heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
Like other medications for ED, vardenafil is reasonably priced considering its cost-effectiveness and its ability to treat a range of sexual dysfunctions beyond ED. However, it’s also important to remember that it doesn’t come without side effects. The most common of which include headaches, flushing, dizziness, heartburn, and nosebleeds. In rare cases, men taking vardenafil have reported having seizures or heart attacks.
The bottom line is that while Viagra was once considered the ‘blue pill’, men are now realizing there are many other viable options. Not only is it important to note that there are numerous cheap and accessible treatments for ED, but it’s also important to be aware of the potentially serious side effects that some of these drugs can have.
