You ever wake up in the morning, excited about a big day ahead? You probably want to make the most of it, so you throw on some clothes and head to the office. However, as you step out of your front door, there is a strange tingling in your pants, reminding you that you haven’t eaten all day. The solution? A quick splash of water to alleviate that uncomfortable feeling – and to remind you that it’s time for a drink. The same goes for when you get into bed. That awkward feeling as you peel off your pants is probably why lots of people choose to use a bedside table to store their drinks. It’s more comfortable than lying on the bed and more convenient than having to reach for a glass every time you need a drink.
Sauce to Serve With Everything
The key with this recipe is to have everything organized and ready to go when you are. It would be best to make the marinara sauce a few days before you need it, so the flavors have time to infuse. While you’re at it, you might as well make the Spanish chorizo and the vegetable pickles as well. They will all be good to have around for other recipes as well, so you can’t go wrong.
Not Your Traditional Marinara Sauce
This isn’t your mother’s marinara sauce, so don’t expect it to taste the same. There are three types of peppers used here: a jalapeno, a poblano, and a serrano. The sauce isn’t meant to be sweet, so no pineapple or tomato to add those flavors either. What you will find here is more of a blend of sweet and spicy, perfect for anyone looking to spice up their life with some heat. As for the meat, it’s a combination of ground beef and veal. You can use whatever you have on hand – the key is to have a variety of meats to choose from when creating your custom-made sauce.
Served on Nachos Or French Fries
This sauce is perfect for serving alongside other snacks or meal choices. One of my favorite ways of eating it is served on nachos. You’ll need to prepare a side of Spanish chorizo or regular chorizo for this. If you want a spicy kick, feel free to use the habenero peppers in this recipe instead. They’re much more common in Spanish cooking, so most people are familiar with them. You can also use a mixture of all three if you want a sweet blend with a little spice.
More Than Just a Hotbed For Growing Mushrooms
This is one of the best all-around mushroom patches I’ve tried. I’ve always had good luck with Amanitas: they grow well and they taste delicious. You’ll get a generous amount of mushrooms growing in your hotbed – about five pounds (or more) of cremini mushrooms – as well as some shiitake mushrooms. You can use any combination of mushrooms you want, but make sure to have at least one of each type, since they all taste delicious when prepared. You might even decide to forgo the artificial flavoring and just eat the mushrooms plain.
Perfect For Adding Some Heat To Your Sausage Bites
I didn’t have any Italian sausage when I made this, so I used bratwurst instead. They both provide a similar texture and most people think they taste the same. The key with this recipe is to add a little bit of heat to your bite. If you want, you can make tiny little sausages out of the ground meat, which would be an awesome way to add more spice to your life. Be careful not to bite down too hard or you’ll end up with a mouthful of spicy meat – and that’s not a good thing.
Sauce to Serve Alongside Sautéed Veal Or Chicken
It’s an unusual combination, but one that tastes absolutely delicious. You can serve this alongside chicken or veal – or even lamb – and it will taste great. You might want to marinade the meat for an hour or two before cooking, so the flavors can combine while the meat tenderizes.
How Do You Like Your Food Flavored?
If you want to change the flavor of your sauce, all you need to do is add some ingredients that will give it the taste you’re looking for. Try some of these out:
- A splash of beer
- A teaspoon each of dried basil and oregano
- Cherry tomatoes, quartered
- Crushed red pepper flakes
- A few drops of liquid aminos
- A few shakes of freshly ground black pepper
Feel free to get creative and come up with your own combinations. This is a fantastic recipe for anyone who wants to add diversity to their palate. With so many different options, your dinner guests will be talking about your wonderful sauce for weeks.
