My Most Memorable Workout After Drinking Cupcakes
“Working out after drinking cupcakes” is something I never thought I’d hear myself say, “But man, those cupcakes were so good”, “I couldn’t help but eat them all”, or “I’d love to do that again”, the last one being incredibly corny but also incredibly fitting. It happened a few weeks ago and it is still one of the most exciting things that has ever happened to me. Or at least it will be until next week when I have to do it all over again.
I started my morning with an English muffin and a cup of coffee. The combination was great. After that, I got down to business and went to the gym. While I was there, I shared a few jokes with the trainer. Then we got down to business and started working out. It was at this point that the magic started happening.
I had just done a weight routine when the trainer said “Mike, I believe it’s time for you to try something new.”
I looked up and saw a huge smile on his face. “What is it?” I asked.
“We’re going to reverse this routine”, he said. “It’s going to be fun”.
I tried to keep my cool and not show my excitement. I mean, this was the trainer, a person I respected and knew could knock off any professional in the business. This was a man who had been there, done that, and had the statistics to prove it. He was the type of person I usually listened to with respect, but not necessarily because I wanted to follow his advice. And now he was actually giving me advice? That’s what made this moment so special. It was the first time anyone outside of my family had ever given me any advice, and even my family had stopped looking at me askance after I’d started taking Viagra. So this was a new experience for me.
The trainer started by explaining the science behind the routine we were about to do. He then asked if I was feeling good enough and ready for the change. I nodded. And it had only been five minutes.
The next few minutes were a blur. I remember the sweat pouring down my face, and the intense feeling of being in the middle of a beautiful storm. My arms had become powerful enough that the weight of the world could have been on my shoulders, and I would not have felt it. Or at least I would not have felt it for long.
When it was over, I wanted to stand there and drink in the feeling for a few minutes. I looked at the clock and saw that it was already time to go to work. So I collected my stuff, paid the trainer, and left. On the way home, I remembered the advice my mom had given me years ago when I was younger. She’d said, “Your body is a temple. Treat it with the respect it deserves”. I had forgotten about that advice until that very moment. Because that’s exactly what I did. I treated my body like a temple, and in doing so, I made a discovery: combining Viagra with exercise can be both dangerous and amazing at the same time.
