If you’ve been reading my articles for a while, you’ll know that I often write about erectile dysfunction (ED) and the different therapies that can help those who suffer from it. One of the most common causes of ED is the frequent and unnecessary consumption of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5 inhibitors or Viagra) to treat the condition. While I’m a big fan of Vigora and its efficacy in curing ED, as well as its role in preventing prostate cancer, the drug can be dangerous when used incorrectly or in excess. Let’s take a look at why.
Viagra Is Generally Safe
Anyone who’s been on the Internet for the past few years knows that the main topic of conversation whenever there’s a new drug release is whether or not it’s safe. While some of the older drugs in this class, such as Cialis and Levitra, have been known to cause liver problems, this is definitely not the case with Viagra. Based on published reports, there are relatively few severe side effects associated with the use of Viagra, including headache, flushing, and a temporary decrease in liver function. These are extremely rare and usually don’t require medical intervention. In fact, the majority of side effects reported by people using Viagra are relatively mild and can easily be treated or prevented by using appropriate medications or herbal supplements. As long as you use the drug for a legitimate indication and in reasonable doses, there are no safety concerns associated with its use.
It Has A Low Rate Of And Severe Side Effects
There have been a lot of well-publicized cases in which men taking Viagra experienced painful erections and/or lowered libido, all resulting from an overdose or inappropriate use of the medication. However, based on studies conducted so far, these problems are incredibly rare, occurring in less than 1% of men who regularly use Viagra. While there’s no question that these side effects can be quite alarming, especially if they’re abrupt in nature, they’re also extremely rare, and in most cases, easily reversible. In fact, aside from these rare occurrences, most men who use Viagra for therapeutic purposes report an improvement in their erections and/or libido as a result of the drug’s treatment. In other words, the medications seem to be effective and safe for the most part.
It Has A Long History Of Safe Use
One of the biggest selling points of Viagra is that it has a history of safe and effective use. The medication, which was first approved by the FDA in 1988, has been shown in numerous studies to improve erectile functioning and positively affect men’s overall health. The most common and severe side effects reported by people taking the drug are headache and flushing, both of which are usually mild and transient. Over the course of a year, the chances of experiencing one or the other of these side effects are slim, although there have been reports of men experiencing them more than once. In terms of effectiveness, men taking Viagra are more likely to achieve and maintain an erection than men who take a placebo in a double-blind study. In addition, men who took the drug also reported improvements in their general well-being and mental health. Although we can’t comment on the long-term effects of Viagra, based on currently available data, it seems to be having positive effects on a large number of men’s health issues, particularly erectile dysfunction (ED).
But It Has One Major Dose Limitation
Despite its apparent effectiveness and overall safety, one major limitation of Viagra is that the drug has a ceiling effect. In other words, the higher the dose that a man takes, the less effective the medication becomes. In fact, a number of studies have shown that while Viagra is very effective in treating mild to moderate ED, it has a minimal impact on men with more severe cases of the condition. Another important point to make is that the effectiveness of Viagra diminishes over time, with repeated use. Based on studies conducted so far, it appears that after about a month of regular use, the benefits of the drug start to wear off, which is why it’s important to start with a low dosage and gradually increase it over time. One last thing to keep in mind is that while the safety and effectiveness of Viagra has been well-documented in clinical studies, the drug interacts with certain medications and herbal supplements, so it’s always a good idea to consult your doctor before taking it in combination with other medications or supplements.
In summary, while there are many reasons why a man might want to try Viagra, the drug isn’t for everyone. In most cases, it will prove to be an effective and safe therapy for erectile dysfunction, particularly in men with mild to moderate cases of the condition, as long as they don’t take it in excess. In addition, men who regularly use the medication should be aware of the fact that while the chances of experiencing side effects are relatively low, they do occur from time to time, particularly if the dosage is too high or the man is also taking certain medications or supplements, particularly if they’re all taken at the same time. Finally, men taking Viagra should consult their doctor about how they should proceed in terms of dosage and how often they should be checking for side effects. With proper use and in the right patient, everyone should have a good experience with this drug, even if they do end up exceeding the recommended dose from time to time.
