Viagra’s Main Ingredient Sildenafil Citrate Is A Big Boost For Sex Drive.
When you’re trying to conceive, every pill, potion, and herbal supplement has a special place in your uterus. Many men find themselves taking a closer look at erectile dysfunction drugs (ED drugs) after learning about the connection between fertility and the heart disease Viagra. Sildenafil citrate (viagra), the primary ingredient of Viagra, is a drug made by Pfizer. It’s a member of the PDE5 family, which stands for “phosphodiesterase type 5.” It was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in March 1998 and helps improve erectile function. But what is erectile function?
The main job of the penis is to absorb sufficient amounts of blood into it so that the organ grows stiff and is ready to enter into rigid, penetrative, and/or orgasmic intercourse. Erectile dysfunction occurs when a man can’t achieve or maintain an erection that’s satisfactory for vaginal or anal penetration. This condition can cause anxiety and stress because of the differences between the expected and actual sexual experiences. The discomfort that comes with sexual dysfunction is often associated with heart disease, especially atherosclerosis (AS) and/or diabetes mellitus (DM). These disorders put men at risk of developing heart disease. Further, men whose ED is caused by a heart condition are at risk of having a heart attack or other cardiovascular problems during sexual activity. So, it’s not surprising that Pfizer’s marketing team went all out to promote this new “heart health” medication.
More Penile Blood Flow Means Better Sex
When you have a full bladder, it’s difficult to achieve an erection. Not so with a half or empty bladder. That’s because the blood vessels in the penis relax and expand, allowing more blood to flow into the organ and prepare it for arousal. This phenomenon is known as the “bladder clamp effect.” When an erection does occur, it’s usually because the bladder is less full. As a result, there’s more room for blood to flow into the penis and stiffen it. So, it stands to reason that if you’re looking for ways to improve your sex life, you should drink plenty of water and monitor how often you urinate. Doing this will help you avoid problems with erections during sexual activity. It also helps you determine when you’re going to have an ejaculation. You don’t want to have an orgasm and then find that you’ve run out of gas. This can cause problems for both of you. It also means that if you do have an orgasm, it will be shorter and less intense than usual. You may, therefore, want to try something different the next time you have sex. Think about what makes you aroused and work from there.
Sildenafil Citrate Is An Effective ED Medication In Combination With Tadalafil Or Vardenafil
The effectiveness of sildenafil citrate in treating erectile dysfunction has been proven in several double-blind clinical trials. In one of these studies, patients were randomly assigned to one of four groups: placebo, 25 mg of sildenafil citrate three times per day, 50 mg of the drug three times per day, or 100 mg of sildenafil citrate three times per day. The results showed that 25 mg of the drug three times per day was as effective as 100 mg of the drug twice per day and that 25 mg of the drug three times per day was more effective than 50 mg of the drug three times per day. In another trial, sildenafil citrate was compared to vardenafil in terms of their ability to promote an erection in men with erectile dysfunction. The trial showed that sildenafil citrate was superior to vardenafil in terms of the time it took for an erection to occur and the degree of hardness attained. Sildenafil citrate was also more effective at initiating and sustaining an erection. In addition, sildenafil citrate was well tolerated, with a lower incidence of side effects than vardenafil. This is an important point because it means that men are less likely to experience severe side effects from sildenafil citrate than they are from vardenafil or tadalafil. Sildenafil citrate is also often less expensive than vardenafil and tadalafil because it’s a less-regulated drug.
Sildenafil Citrate Is A Potent Inhibitor Of Fluid Secretion
Sildenafil citrate is also a potent inhibitor of fluid secretion, meaning that it stops the water pump that keeps your urine from overflowing the storage containers in your kidneys. This can be particularly useful for men with enlarged prostates or bladder stones. In some cases, it may be necessary to use a different medication in combination with sildenafil citrate to treat these conditions. Drugs that promote fluid secretion include:
- The prostate drug dutasteride
- The alpha blocker phenazopyridine
- Androgens
- Neuromodulators
- Oxytocin
- Tranylcypromine
- Cholinergic agonists
