Here’s a question that’s been bothering me a lot lately: What is the right amount of medication for a man to take if he wants to get or keep an erection?
To be honest, I looked up “viagra” and “erectile dysfunction” in the search bar of my mobile phone and was a little taken aback by the results. There were over 90 million matches, and most of them were for “Viagra“, which is certainly a lot of erectile dysfunctioners looking for a strong pill to help them get hard. I scrolled down for more results and found “Sildenafil Citrate“, also known as “Revatio“, and “Tadalafil“, which are both phosphodiesterase inhibitors. These are the classes of medication that are supposed to help with erectile dysfunction, so naturally I was interested in these results.
To make things more confusing, the medication I want to focus on isn’t called “Viagra“, it’s called “Cialis“. The dose for the latter is much lower than for the former, and it’s usually only used for treating erectile dysfunction (more on that later). So, which one should I take? Should I choose “Sildenafil Citrate” or “Tadalafil“?
What Is Erectile Dysfunction?
The most common type of erectile dysfunction is impotence, which is the inability of a male to keep an erection (non-obstructive impotence) or the inability to get an erection (retrograde ejaculation).
Other less common types of erectile dysfunction include:
- Affected orgasm: When a man experiences an orgasm, either during sexual activity or in response to an erotic stimulus, it can sometimes be difficult for him to achieve a subsequent erection. This is the reason why men with erectile dysfunction often experience orgasm somewhat differently than the average person. Some men with this issue never really achieve an orgasm during sexual activity, even though they may have frequent and/or powerful ones before taking into account their overall sexual health and well-being. For these individuals, an erection may be the only way they can experience physical pleasure in bed. The condition is known as orgasmic impotence and is usually caused by emotional or psychological factors. Examples of this can be performance anxiety, low self-esteem, or depression.
- Neurogenic: This type of erectile dysfunction is caused by a physical or medical problem that affects the nervous system. It can be completely disabling, and in some cases it’s the only type of erectile dysfunction a man may experience. In other cases, it may be one of several issues that contribute to the overall dysfunction. For example, diabetes can cause neurogenic erectile dysfunction, and so can spinal cord injuries or injuries that affect the nervous system. In these cases, medicines such as Sildenafil Citrate and Tadalafil are often prescribed.
- Sclerotic: This type of erectile dysfunction is caused by scar tissue that forms around a man’s arteries as he grows older. It results in a decreased blood flow to the penis, which in turn leads to an erection that is not as strong as it could be. This is why men with sclerotic erectile dysfunction often describe their condition as “hard to describe”. They may also experience numbness or aching in the lower back, which is caused by the veins in the pelvis getting compressed as the muscles around them become less flexible with age. In some cases, medical intervention is necessary to improve blood flow to the penis, and in others, sexual activity may not be possible. Men with this type of erectile dysfunction often describe an orgasm as “very strange”, since it doesn’t always happen. In some instances, it can take some time before they experience another. In rare cases, it can be completely absent. For these individuals, an erection may be the only way they can experience pleasure in bed. The condition is known as arterial occlusive disease and is usually caused by aging or some sort of trauma to the arteries in the pelvis. As a result of this, the lining of these arteries becomes thick and furred over time, resulting in decreased blood flow to the penis. The condition can be treated with surgical procedures or medicines such as Aviptadil, Fibricastin, and Hydroxyethylstarch.
How Do I Know If I Have Erectile Dysfunction?
If you’re wondering whether or not you have erectile dysfunction, the answer is probably yes. You may not even know that you have it, since the symptoms of the condition often overlap with those of other illnesses and/or medications. It’s very common for men to be prescribed Sildenafil Citrate or Tadalafil for some other health issue, and not even know that they’ve been diagnosed with this problem. To find out for sure, you’ll need to consult with a medical professional.
Which One Should I Choose?
When it comes to Sildenafil Citrate and Tadalafil, the main differences between them are their concentrations and the timing of their effects. The higher the dose of Sildenafil Citrate, the stronger the erection it will produce (hence the name “strong pill”). However, the higher the dose, the more likely you are to experience side effects. The lowest effective dose of Sildenafil Citrate for most people is 50 mg. For some individuals, it may be as low as 12.5 mg. The side effects of Sildenafil Citrate include headache, diarrhea, flushing, and upset stomach. These are usually mild and tolerable, but since they may be accompanied by more serious side effects, such as allergic reactions and liver damage, they should be considered serious. The other difference between Sildenafil Citrate and Tadalafil is that the latter is absorbed more slowly into the bloodstream. It takes longer for Tadalafil to produce its erection-boosting effects, but since it doesn’t produce these effects as quickly as Sildenafil Citrate, it may be safer and more effective for treating erectile dysfunction in older people.
What About Cialis?
For those of you who are curious, there is actually a medicine called “Cialis” that’s been specifically designed to treat erectile dysfunction. It’s made by the pharmaceutical company Cue, and it’s one of the most popular medications on the market, with over 18 million prescriptions written each year. It’s a very strong pill, with a higher concentration of sildenafil than Sildenafil Citrate or Tadalafil. It also has a longer duration of action. The usual dose for Cialis is 20 mg, and it needs to be taken about half an hour before sexual activity to be effective. It doesn’t produce the same sort of side effects as the other two pills mentioned here, and it’s much safer than some of the over-the-counter remedies that are available. Naturally, it’s not absolutely perfect. There can be side effects associated with Cialis, such as headache, dizziness, and upset stomach. In some cases, medical intervention is necessary to improve blood flow to the penis, and in others, sexual activity may not be possible. Those with liver problems should avoid taking Cialis, since it can cause toxicity. It’s generally a safer option for men with heart disease or those taking medication for their blood pressure.
