The Story Behind The Key Ingredient In Smokes

Seeing as how it is one of the biggest industries in the world, it is not very surprising that many people harbour a curiosity for this leaf and what its significance is. Well, for as long as man has existed, he has also been a fan of using mind-altering substances which back then was found in more purer forms than the synthetics we have come to know today. One such indulgence was tobacco, something that dates back to 5,000 BC starting from the Native Americans who enjoyed stuffing them into hollow stems and inhaling a puff. This grew of course over time and soon Europe and parts of Asia became accustomed to the habit. Today, there are millions of cigarettes packed being lit up around the world but what really is the story behind it?

AN INTRODUCTION

A cigarette is a toxic amalgamation of countless ingredients that are packed with harmful chemicals. In unison, they provide a relief of sorts to the mind as smokers often feel relaxed when having a cigarette especially after something particularly tough such as an argument. Nicotine and tobacco are known to be the primary perpetrators with the latter undergoing rigorous production stages before being deemed worthy enough to make it into a cigarette. Where once tobacco was manually sorted by hand, today you could opt for international tobacco machinery to do the job for you instead.

SIGNIFICANT CROP

Of all the crops America later came to invest in, tobacco was one of their first. As smoking grew, so did the crops and eventually plantations and soon enough there were farmers cultivating their lands to make for tobacco. As demand increased they found that they were able to make more money this way and to date it is a very delicate and fiercely protected industry. A suitable knowledge in the production of tobacco needs to be there if not one could experience big losses. From drying to withering and moisture levels, every step should be done with utmost care.

Once sailors and explorers were introduced to this plant, they took it upon themselves to bring it back to their countries which is how Europe came to be introduced to tobacco. Soon their farmers began cultivating it as a crop and so it went on from border to border. The Mayan tribes have been known to offer tobacco leaves as sacrifice to their Gods although today it is seen as something far less holy in nature. Production companies invest in international tobacco machinery so that it speeds up the process for them and they can churn out higher productivity.

HEALTH

Of course, nobody has ever claimed smoking to be a good thing; so if you know someone who smokes who wants to quit but are finding it tough, why not do some research for them? Different techniques work for different people you just need to find what works for that individual. For example meditation, support groups, nicotine patches and so on are some examples of what people turn to when they want to quit. Remember that moral support is of utmost importance so make sure you are able to provide that for them.
